Donna Higbee, a 13-year veteran of the Galloway Township Police Department was sworn in as police chief Wednesday evening. Higbee was named acting-chief last month after Pat Moran retired from the post. Higbee will earn $135,000 as chief.
Higbee started her law enforcement career in 1999 as a Class II officer in Wildwood. She then worked for the Hamilton Township police force before joining Galloway Township’s department.
During her service with Galloway Township she has served as a Field Training Officer, a Crisis/Hostage Negotiator, a bicycle patrol instructor and served on the Department’s Honor Guard Unit as the Director
Higbee attended Galloway Township Public Schools and graduated from Absegami High School in 1994 and Stockton State College in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Training, Development and Management from Seton Hall University, and a Master of Arts certificate in Leadership, Management and Policy.
Higbee is active in the Galloway
community participating in veteran’s events, Beacon Church’s
Thanksgiving Food Drive, Girl Scouts of America and the Christmas Family
Program through the police department.
A ceremonial swearing in will take place at the Galloway Township Council meeting on July 14, at 6:30 p.m.
