The son of Mullica Township stabbing victim Lois Collier, 56, said investigators told him his mother’s boyfriend died after jumping from the Walt Whitman Bridge later the day of the slaying.
Collier, 56, was found stabbed to
death July 2 in the Mullica Township home she shared with boyfriend
Mark Holland on Weymouth Road.
There is a vigil for her set for 8 p.m. tonight at the Harbor City Apartments in Egg Harbor City.
Toby Collier said his mother’s car was missing after her slaying, and found in the vicinity of the bridge.
The body of a black man was
pulled from the Delaware River near the Queen Village neighborhood of
Philadelphia on July 6, and Toby Collier said Atlantic County
Prosecutor’s Office investigators told him the body was that of Holland.
However, the Prosecutor’s Office, which is handling the investigation, has declined to answer questions about Holland’s whereabouts or to release information about Lois Collier’s car or the body taken from the Delaware River.

They also have not identified a suspect.
“They won’t tell you a lot of stuff,” said Toby Collier. “I have no idea why.”
Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Jay
McKeen said Friday the case remains under investigation and the office
has no new information to release.
Philadelphia Police have no
information on the identity of the body, a spokesperson said. No one
from the Delaware River Port Authority Police, whom Philadelphia Police
said had taken possession of the body, returned calls Friday.
Toby Collier said he had lived
with his mom and Holland about two months, and he never saw Holland
behave violently. He said Holland’s personality changed about two months
ago, when he was upset by a legal problem.
