EGG HARBOR CITY –
Savage Camino LLC representatives received a site plan waiver from the
Egg Harbor City Land Use Board Tuesday, April 21 to allow them to open a
restaurant at the site of a former city firehouse.
The business,
“Leatherheads” referring to firefighter helmets, will be located at 105
Philadelphia Ave. in a building that was constructed in 1920.
The eatery will be headed by Lisa Savage, who currently has two successful restaurants in Ventnor, Lisa’s and Sage.
Paul and Lauren Ehrbacher, who formerly managed The Avenue in Egg Harbor City, will serve as chefs and managers.
“I am really excited to get a new restaurant in the city,” Mayor Lisa Jiampetti said. “Based on the previous success of The Avenue it should do very well. It will also be able to host fundraisers for non-profit groups, as well as Cedar Creek High School, which is important in that we don’t have any other facilities in the city to do so.”
No opening date was announced.
Savage did not return attempts for comment.
