Mascio - Marro Meeting

By MICHELLE BRUNETTI POST, Staff Writer
MULLICA TOWNSHIP - Kelly Mascio has been reinstated as a kindergarten teacher in the Mullica Township School District, after a meeting with Superintendent  Brenda Harring-Marro last week, said a teacher’s union representative.

“We are absolutely and positively satisfied that Kelly has been restored into her original kindergarten placement,” said Mullica Township Education Association President Barbara Rheault. “While this situation should never have gotten so completely out-of-hand, we hope that our Administration and Board of Education learns from this experience and never again make such costly, community-rending decisions.”

In the article, The Press states, "Harring-Marro has said she will reach out to members of the community and district in an attempt to heal relationships going forward."

When will Marro and the BOE wake up? Over 90% of Marro's staff have no confidence in her and over 700 residents signed a petition not to renew her contract. Both Marro and the BOE members who thought "it was in the best interest of the students" to pursue this ridiculous action need to resign. Hear our message,"We don't want you ruining our school!" They have caused enough harm and damage to our school & community and it is time for them to leave!

The community needs to not let up and to continue to attend the BOE meetings to have their voices heard and to not vote for any of the current BOE members, except for Bob Stollenwerk when their term is up . The next meeting will be Aug 27 at 7:00 pm in the school library. Sign up to speak - maybe it will start to sink in.

4:59PM If the other 2800 voters in the township were saying the same thing you might have something! But they are not.

4:10 Pm, The petition was only passed around for a few days and obviously didn't reach all the residents. If the question Marro's removal could be put on the November ballot and the town could vote on this matter, I have no doubt that there would be the biggest turnout of voters this town has ever seen by both parties.
You're probably one of the 8 who would want to keep her for unknown reasons.

To 4:10 PM… The only reason there wasn't more than 700 is because there wasn't time to get the rest of the town prior to the BOE meeting. How many of those 2,800 would be satisfied with Marro and the BOE wasting over $100,000 of our hard-earned tax payer dollars on the Mascio case? From what I understand, there is money wasted on non-educational things at that school on a fairly regular basis.

4:10PM, have you noticed anyone in Mullica PROUDLY displaying a "We Support Brenda" sign? Didn't think so.

Of those 700 signatures, how many of them actually knew what they were signing? If something happened to any one of the signer's children in the classroom they would want to have every avenue exhausted to make sure that their children were properly supervised.

And with all the nasty comments on social media to those that are in support of Brenda maybe people were scared to put signs in the yard in support of her.

Please remember that the only people who gave information to the media to tarnish a reputation were the ones who supporting the cause, the school and Brenda were the ones who remained professional and did not seek to destroy anyone.

To 11:14am
"The school and Brenda were the ones who remained professional and did not seek to destroy anyone"

Are you for real???

Is it professional to file false police reports?
Is it professional to present false verbal arguments to an arbitrator?
Is it professional to leak false information about the "facts" on the case?
Maybe the BOE based their decisions on lies that they thought were facts when the info was leaked.
Did you read the Press editorial 7/16/14?
Is it professional for the board NOT to keep minutes according to the interpretation of the supreme court?
The board and Marro went out of their way to destroy Mascio's life and career over what everyone else knew was NOT an incident worthy of tenure charges.

I'm so proud that this community came together and supported this woman against injustice.

"Evil exists when good people do nothing" and evil was stopped this time by good people speaking up and joining together.

With all the true information that was released in this case, why would anyone support Marro?( or "Brenda" as you refer to her).

Can you still not see the treachery, dishonesty and lack of good judgement by school Administration?
