Julian Assange Arrested in London

After nearly seven years living in the refuge of the Ecuadoran Embassy in London, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange saw his asylum revoked on Thursday. Here’s what has happened since:
● London’s Metropolitan Police entered the embassy and arrested Assange “on behalf of the United States.”
● Assange was found guilty in a British court of breaching bail in 2012.
● A U.S. federal court unsealed an indictment charging Assange with conspiring to hack a Defense Department computer in order to publish classified U.S. documents.

British authorities arrested WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on Thursday in response to a U.S. extradition request, and a U.S. federal court unsealed an indictment charging him with a single count of conspiracy to disclose classified information that could be used to injure the United States.
Assange was taken into custody by British police after Ecuador rescinded his asylum at its embassy in London, ending a standoff that lasted nearly seven years.

Just a coincidence, right?
March 11, 2019 The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today approved a US$ 4.2 billion (435 percent of quota and SDR 3.035 billion) arrangement under the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ecuador. The Board’s decision enables the immediate disbursement of US$652 million (equivalent to SDR 469,7 million, or 67.3 percent of Ecuador’s quota). This arrangement provides support for the Ecuadorean government’s economic policies over the next three years.
