EHC Child Porn Arrest

MAYS LANDING- An Egg Harbor City man was arrested on child pornography charges and other offenses, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

Joseph McCormick, 49, was arrested on Friday, March 23, 2018, by members of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force and he was charged with the following: Distribution of Child Pornography (2nd Degree), Possession of Child Pornography (3rd degree) Leader of a Child Pornography Network (3rd degree), Hindering Prosecution (3rd degree) and Tampering with Evidence (4th degree).
On March 20, 2018, members of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force executed a search warrant at McCormick’s residence and McCormick was charged as a result of the search warrant.
The charge against McCormick of Leader of a Child Pornography Network is a new charge in the State of New Jersey and the first of its kind for the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Assistant Prosecutor Dave Ruffenach represents the state and it was a result of a joint investigation with the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office High Technology Crimes Unit.
