Widespread shaking was once again felt across much of South Jersey about 10:20 a.m. Wednesday. The shaking was felt from as far west as Cherry Hill to as far south as Wildwood.
Patrick
Gordon, public affairs officer from Naval Air Station Patuxent River in
eastern Maryland, said the state did not have any aircraft flying in
the area this morning.
Last year, two sonic booms were around the region from jets from the naval station.

The U.S. Geological Survey is not showing any earthquake activity in New Jersey.
However,
one possible explanation is that an inversion is able to magnify sound
from aircraft miles away. According to Meteorologist Joe Martucci, an
inversion occurs when a layer of warmer air sits over a layer of cooler
air. Sound is easier to travel during warmer air.
State Police have not received any earthquake alerts, said Trooper Alejandro Goez.
Police across South Jersey are aware of the shaking and have been receiving calls from concerned residents.
"It shook the windows and the walls and
my two dogs are barking like crazy. I talked to family members as far as
Baltimore, Maryland, and they said they felt the same thing," said
Atlantic City resident Delmar Hamilton Sr.
In a series of tweets, Mike O'Rourke said he felt a small earthquake in Sicklerville, Camden County.
