EHC Discusses Development of 50 + Acres

Excerpts
The area, bounded by Hamburg and Washington avenues, and Duerer Street and Moss Mill Road, contains about 100 acres, more than half of which are available for development. The remaining acres are in unbuildable wetlands. According to Michel, there are some residences within the area that would not be part of the plan.

Among the uses Michel cited as appropriate for the zone are two types of residential development, single family homes consistent in lot size with that of the surrounding area, and thematic, meaning homes built on a golf course or surrounding man-made lakes.
Other potential uses are assisted living facilities, institutional facilities such as a hospital, urgent care center or other medical facility, a college or university campus, commercial/recreation or retail commercial that would support other uses in the zone and would be non-competitive with retail establishments in the downtown business district.
