****This just in*****.... Just as police cleared the Cincinnati Ave incident......We have preliminary reports of Molotov cocktails were just thrown into the black SUV from Saturday afternoon's shooting on Washington Avenue. Police were said to be on scene at the time we received this information. We will update when we have further information.
Update: It appears to be the incident on Cincinnati was likely a diversion so the above incident could take place.

EGG HARBOR CITY — Two shootings over three days here have residents on edge, wondering when violence will next strike this normally quiet area.
The first shooting took place Thursday evening at the 24-hour Wawa on the White Horse Pike, said Mayor Lisa Jiampetti. She was told the target of that shooting was hit with at least one bullet, but she had no other information, she said.
A more brazen shooting took place in broad daylight Saturday afternoon on Washington Avenue, she said.
The two shootings could be related and the matter is under investigation Jiampetti said.
Acting County Acting Prosecution Diane M. Ruberton is involved with the investigation, Jiampetti said.
For Washington Avenue residents, where the second shooting took place, the shock that an incident happened on their block piled onto the shock that two shootings occurred in their neighborhood.

On Sunday afternoon, a black SUV with New Jersey plates was still parked outside a home where the second shooting took place with what appeared to be a bullet hole in the driver’s side of the windshield.
Mike Alexander, 36, who lives on the block where the shooting took place, said he is very concerned. He has three children who often ride scooters or bikes on the street on Saturday afternoons, he said. His children were putting on their shoes and were about 10 minutes away from heading outside to play, he said.
At 12:45 p.m., a car pulled up to the black SUV and two gunmen started firing, Alexander said. Three people in the black SUV ran away and the shooters never left the car, Alexander said.
“I have lived here (in the city) nine years, and it has gotten worse, it has gradually gotten worse,” Alexander said.
Whether this specific shooting was due to gangs, drugs or both, the city’s police force is too small to deal with the problem, Alexander said. There was a police raid at house behind his about a month ago, he said.

Galloway, Hamilton and Mullica police were all on the scene Saturday afternoon, Alexander said. The Egg Harbor Township forensic unit was there, and Galloway Township police blocked off the street, Alexander said.

“The city has a serious issue,” he said. “You need the whole county to respond.”
Katrina Maderia, 52, lives on the same side of the street where Saturday’s shooting took place. She said her next-door neighbor was outside mowing his lawn.
“I’m scared for the kids. ... Kids could have been playing,” said Maderia, who added that initially she thought it was fireworks, but she stayed in the house anyway. “A lot of people aren’t talking. Even the police aren’t talking.”
