Tuition and fees at Stockton University will rise 2 percent, or about $256 per year, for the 2016-17 academic year.
The college Board of Trustees
approved the increase at its meeting Wednesday. The annual cost for
undergraduate tuition and fees will be $13,076 for a full-time, in-state
student taking 12 to 20 credits.
For part-time students, the cost
will increase about $10 per credit to $503, or about $2,012 for a
four-credit course. For graduate courses, the cost will increase about
$15 to $772 per credit.
This is the third year in a row
that tuition and fee increases have been at 2 percent. Stockton’s costs
remain in the middle of the pack among the state’s public colleges.

“We looked at what the other
colleges are doing, and we are right along with everyone else,” said
trustee Stanley Ellis, chairman of the finance committee.
Rowan University in June also increased tuition and fees 2 percent for 2016-17 to a cost of $13,108 for the academic year.
Housing costs at Stockton will
increase an average of 2 percent, ranging from a low of $2,938 per
semester for a triple to $5,264 for a single.
