Shots Fired At Hammonton Fire Co. No.1

HAMMONTON—Police are seeking information regarding numerous shots that were fired at Hammonton Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 on Front Street, at 1:38 a.m. on September 23, Hammonton Police Chief Robert Jones said. The shots broke and cracked glass in two doors on the Passmore Avenue side of the building and a window on the back of the building, Jones said.
According to Jones, the Hammonton Police Department received a telephone call reporting damage at Hammonton Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 on Front Street. An AtlantiCare worker reported hearing glass breaking on the Passmore Avenue side glass door, Jones said.
“When they looked around the corner, they could see a red laser light through the glass of the door. It appears the person used a laser scope or some type of laser light with a BB-gun or Airsoft-type gun to shoot the right door and shatter its glass and crack the glass on the left door. A window on the back of the building was also damaged,” Jones said.
Anyone with any information regarding this vandalism should contact the Hammonton Police Department at 561-4000, Jones said.
