I am providing an update on the results of my inquiry for road improvements on portions of the White Horse Pike.
My inquiry was directed through the Office of Senator Jim Whelan to the NJ Department of Transportation.
According to the DOT, the highway
improvements scheduled for the portion of Route 30, from Egg Harbor City
through Elwood Road, are pushed back to 2018.
The section of the WHP near Wharton
Park Boulevard is not scheduled for any improvements. Township Committee
may request that DOT investigate possible safety improvements at that
intersection , however any "add on" projects would require Mullica
Township Committee bear 25% of the repairs and improvements, while the
State bears 75% of the cost of the improvement.
I would be happy to bring this idea to Township Committee for discussion.
