Vets Invited To Fish

As many as 30 military veterans can enjoy a day of fishing, camaraderie and relaxation on Lake Lenape during a Heroes on the Water event Sept. 19, hosted by the Atlantic County Division of Parks and Recreation.

The nonprofit, donation-supported Heroes on the Water supplies participating veterans with all necessary equipment, including kayaks, fishing gear, personal flotation jackets and a personal guide. Safety instructions and lunch are also included. The event is free to attend.

“We appreciate the efforts of Heroes on the Water in providing this opportunity for veterans to enjoy some of Atlantic County’s beautiful recreation resources,” Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson said in a news release.
