Mullica Twp. Man Arrested For Killing His Wife

By LYNDA COHEN, Staff Writer
A Mullica Township man was arrested Thursday in the 2014 killing of his wife inside the Pleasant Mills Road home they shared.

Sergio DeRosa, 57, was indicted Wednesday on a charge of reckless manslaughter, and was taken into custody Thursday from the home where the killing happened.
Lynn DeRosa, 57, was found dead of a single shotgun wound to the head at about 9:30 p.m. May 26, 2014.
The DeRosas used to owned the Old Bay Restaurant and Bar in Egg Harbor City, which later became the Burger Pub. The restaurant, in the 200 block of Philadelphia Avenue, closed a few years ago.
No information has been released on what may have led to the shooting.
Neighbors at the time told The Press of Atlantic City they called 911 after hearing Sergio DeRosa call for help.
Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain previously declined to release whether the death had been ruled a homicide. But in announcing the arrest Friday, he said the autopsy done the day after the killing led the medical examiner to rule it a homicide.
An investigation by the Major Crimes Unit and Mullica Township police led to Sergio DeRosa's indictment by a grand jury on Wednesday.
He is being lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $150,000 cash or bond.

Reckless manslaughter carries a potential sentence of five to 10 years in prison.
