A beautiful comment that speaks of Jon's character and his service to our community.

- Thank you Gadfly for noting the passing of Jon since he was such a major contributor to Mullica for its quality of life. He worked tirelessly and never took a cent from the town and its taxpayers for his services.Jon once told me that he never ran for office because he never wanted to be beholden to anyone except his conscience and he kept that idea although if he had run he would have surely won a committee seat.He was the head of the Environmental Commission from its creation and stayed for over a decade at that post. He served on the Planning Board for close to two decades including being the Head of that committee. He always did his homework, he never got involved in politics, never deceived anyone , and was very straightforward. While many folks serve the township many also get some compensation or payment if they are employed. Jon took neither. He gave so much to us and had a trait thats getting more scarce every day-INTEGRITY!! He was highly respected for this trait by our leaders and the late Larry Angel who of course suspected everyone who sat in a position of power. Jon obviously wanted a quiet passing but folks need to know about Jon and realize the community has a lot to thank him for. While we mourn his passing and the loss for Mullicans although he moved recently we need to remember that he is now with folks and pets he loved so dearly. Goodby for Now Jon for we will surely meet again

No photo, nothing. Sounds like Jon wrote his own obituary. Jon, you were a good man. You left us too early.
