Retired Garment Workers Asked To Share Stories
GALLOWAY – Stockton is looking for retired garment workers from Hammonton, Vineland and the surrounding area, or their family members, to be interviewed for a graduate student project.
Lisa Cox, professor of social work at Stockton, will offer a graduate course this spring titled Aging: Advanced Practice, in which students will be paired with women or men who worked in the South Jersey garment industry.
Students will interview their subjects at Kramer Hall, downtown Hammonton’s instructional site of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, and record their oral histories. Then each student will prepare a memoir and present it April 22 at Kramer Hall, 30 Front St.
To share a story can call Ginna Petrillo at 609-626-3837 or email ginna.petrillo@stockton.edu.
