Low-income Medicaid recipients can get help
Extra help is available for
Medicare recipients living on a limited income, who may qualify for as
much as $5,000 in annual assistance to help with Medicare expenses.
Income-eligible seniors and
people with disabilities who are enrolled in Medicare can save at least
$1,000 on health-care expenses by enrolling in a Medicare Savings
Program, which will cover the Medicare Part B premium, a savings of
$104.90 per month, for qualified people. They may also qualify for an
average annual savings of $3,900 on Medicare Part D premiums and
prescriptions with a low income subsidy. In addition to discounts on
brand-name and generic medications, there are no co-pays or deductibles
for annual wellness visits and personalized prevention plan services.
