Board of Education Meeting -3/19/14 - The Community Speaks

This was an enlightening meeting.  Everyone in Mullica should be concerned about what is happening to our school under the leadership of Brenda Harring -Marro.  One after the other, residents spoke of the harassing and intimidating conditions the teachers are working under, why all the best teachers and staff are leaving, the excellent programs that have been gutted and personal experiences of parents and past students.

The standing room only crowd listened as residents spoke, some choking back tears, as the Board sat stone faced and silent only to declare that the residents would only be given 2 - 3 minutes each to speak.

A petition was delivered to the Board which had 720 names, so far, asking that they not renew Marro's contract which is up in June.  It was discovered that Brenda Harring- Marro had contacted the employers of parents who spoke at a Board meeting in support of Mrs Mascio in an attempt to have them disciplined when these parents were well within their First Amendment rights.  This action alone should make this Board of Education take some form of action against the Superintendent. 

It was also discovered that Mr. Stollenwerk was the lone vote against certifying the tenure charges against Mrs Mascio.  He received a standing ovation from the emotional crowd. 

Even if you have no connection to the school, you should get involved in this situation.  All the money that is being wasted on this case is coming out of your taxpayer pocket.  Your property value is going to drop if the school's reputation continues to plummet.
