EHC Murder Trial Begins

Rafael Olmo is accused of hiring two men to kill Deanna Downs, an Egg Harbor City mother of two, who allegedly witnessed Olmo shoot and kill Sandy Thomas in 2009.

Deanna Downs was found in the courtyard of the Harbor City Apartments on October 16, 2010 at 11:45 pm with a single gunshot in the face.

The State contends that Mario Adams is the alleged hitman.  Adam's attorney believes state witness Dontey Williams, a drug dealer, is the killer.  Olmo's attorney argues that police failed to properly investigate at least six other men who were the possible killers.
