Lake Lenape Dam
Atlantic County and Hamilton Township refused to allow the public to see a publicly funded engineering report that in June described the Lake Lenape Dam as "unsafe".
The state DEP Bureau of Dam Safety and Flood Control in Trenton allowed access to the report.
Atlantic County Officials said they are working on addressing the problems amid disputes with contractors. For nearly a decade, a growing pile of inspection reports detailed key problems with the Dam that adds a flood risk to Hamilton, Egg Harbor Twp., Weymouth Twp. and Corbin City.
The article lists the years of problems and the red tape delays in repairs.
