Fatal Accident on Rt. 30

One man died and a woman and her son were injured Sunday after an accident in Mullica Township.

A motorcycle and a pickup truck collided at 2:43 p.m. at Route 30 and Snow Hill Road, police said.

Donna Simpkins, 48, of Mullica, was driving a Toyota Tacoma.  The man driving a 2008 Honda CBR motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.  His name was not released Sunday pending family notification.

Simpkins and her 14- year -old son, who was not identified, were extricated from the truck.  They were both airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City.

Simpkins was listed in very critical condition, and her son was listed in stable condition, police said Sunday night.

The accident caused traffic to be diverted from Route 30 for several hours.

The Mullica Township Police Crash Investigations Unit is investigating the accident.  Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Ryan Hutton or Detective Chis Silva at 609-561-7600, ext. 125 or 121.

Update
An active Air Force airman was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon on the White Horse Pike in Mullica Township.
Police said 19 year-old Eugene J. Sonnier III, of Lafayette, La was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2008 Honda CBR motorcycle collided with a Toyota Tacoma.
