Joint Insurance Fund

The Township (Mullica) is a member of the Atlantic County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund.
Joint Insurance Funds ( JIFs) are simply a form of shared services for New Jersey Public Entities that enables them to pool their resources to insurance for property, liability, and workers compensation coverage.
They also wisely budget for professional contracts that deliver an extraordinary level of service.

There is a great misconception about who is financially responsible when lawsuits are brought against municipalities.  It is not for-profit insurance companies who are footing the bill for these suits, but rather the taxpayers in that municipality who end up paying.
