Mullica 2012 Murder Suspect Charged

Florida man charged in 2012 slaying of Mullica Township man, 77

Police arrested and charged a Florida man Tuesday morning with the murder of a Mullica Township man in his home 14 months ago.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said Michael K. Castro, 32, of Dania, Broward County, Fla., shot John Kingsbury, 77, twice in the head while attempting to burglarize his home
.
Police charged Castro with felony murder, murder and weapons offenses.  Pending extradition, he was taken to Broward County Jail with bail set at $1.1 million cash.

Kingsbury was found injured in his home on the 2100 block of Woodland Avenue in Mullica by a family member on Feb.5, 2012.

The Mullica Township Police Department and ambulance personnel responded, and Kingsbury was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Little information was released about the incident in the days and months afterward, but an extensive investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office and Mullica police lead to Castro's arrest.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement assisted in arresting Castro at his home on Tuesday morning.

I would love to know how they found this guy. Great job!

I read on ABC 6 site that the son hired a private detective to find his father's killer

They didn't "find" him. He was never hiding. He was opening a martial arts school in Florida, and posting regularly about his activities on FB and Youtube. I live on the other side of the country from Mike, and I knew where he was! This charge is BS.

Posters should send in any information they might have in this case to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Castro was released on July 9th and on august 8th the judge dismissed all charges against him. He is currently a free man. You can't lie about evidence and present them as fact. The truth is that if they had anything at all on him he would have been re indicted.
