In Hamilton Township, a 43 year-old Mullica man died from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident late Wednesday in which his vehicle struck a utility pole and several trees, police said.
James Romeo was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty in the area of Creek Road and Weymouth Road at about 10:10 pm when his vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons, police said.
Romeo was not wearing a seatbelt and no airbags deployed in the vehicle,police said. He was extricated from the wreckage and airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City, where he later was pronounced dead, police said.
Officers are still investigating the crash.
