Mayor's Legal Fees Paid By Mullica Taxpayers???
Once again, the taxpayers of Mullica have been fleeced. Once again, Bill Kennedy, Janet Forman and Kathy Chasey can be thanked. Oh, and did I mention Bernie Graebener? Yeah, thanks to you too Bernie! Our fist wielding, assault-minded Mayor with no conscious nor shame, requested AND received reimbursement for the first installment of his legal fees ($1000.00) that came about because our Mayor cannot seem to control his temper nor his fists. Not only can we thank KFC for this wasteful expenditure, but we have a new member of the idiots-r-us gang...that's right folks....Bernie Graebener. You know, the one that claimed to bring transparency and honesty to local government. Oh, but it gets better. The Mayor did not even have a total legal bill last night, only the initial $1000.00. Was this to set a precedent with the thought that its ONLY $1,000.00? Was this an initial test on the part of Kennedy and his taxpayer funded legal team to test the water? Did the legal team not want to overwhelm the public with a comprehensive huge bill for all legal fees? Did the legal team want to set a precedent with the corrupt council voting for approval on this measly amount? Can we expect a $1,000.00 bill being submitted at every council meeting to pay for Kennedy's legal fees??? Indefinitely??? What are the total cost of this nitwits legal fees? Nobody seems to know....yet the idiots-r-us voted to approve a partial bill payment??? Huh? Would it be giving these idiots to much credit to believe that they orchestrated this bill submission on the same night as the drama with the Rescue Squad's 911 Chief Franklin making an ass of himself with his contradictory, disingenuous comments about the "democrats" and "larry angel" making the EMT's quit?? Can any of these characters be taken serious? Welcome to Mullica.

Graebener, It is to your advantage to try to explain your reasoning for this vote. I am not happy right now.
OMG!!! This is like some horror movie. One by one, smalltown people get infected with an alien virus that makes them lose their ability to make sound and rational judgements. I can't believe the utter stupidity of the last three days!
Kennedy used Forman's very expensive Lawyer,so I guess it will be alot more. I hope all you good Republicans will remember this in Nov.. Maybe if he punched Butterhoff, they would have refused to pay his bills.
Does this mean that we are responsible for the legal bills of any of the Council? When people act badly they should not be rewarded. This vote is very disturbing to me.
You know, the person who you should hold in contempt is Bill Kennedy, who's despicable, boorish behavior at the school board meeting brought on this incident in the first place. Then, when he had a chance to apologize numerous times, he arrogantly decided to bring it to trial because his lawyer told him that he would win, knowing that as an elected official the taxpayers would be obligated to pay his legal fees. And who do you think sat in the courtroom offering him moral support? The same person who helped get him that attorney and the same person who is going to be mayor next year.
Were the taxpayers obligated? If so, then why vote? If Graebener had voted "no" then the taxpayers wouldn't have been obligated to pay.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
This is assuming that Mr. Kennedy couldn't vote himself, because of a conflict of interest and that would have made the vote two "yes" to pay (Chasey and Forman) and two "no" not to pay (St. Amour and Graebener), thus having a tie and the whole thing would have been dropped and Mr. Kennedy would have had to pay his own legal bills for having "boorish, despicable behavior at a school board meeting".
I can't for the life of me understand why the hell Graebener would agree to pay the bill. There can't be one good reason for it. The truth of the matter is the taxpayers would NOT have had to pay had Graebener just said NO.
The Township would then have been sued by Kennedy and it would have incurred additional legal fees.
I was under the impression that the committee had a choice to pay the bill or not. That's why a vote was taken. If Graebener voted "NO", then Kennedy would have had to pay his own bill. That was in the paper last Spring. When this issue came up everybody thought that it would be a 2 to 2 vote which would have failed. Kennedy has Graebener to thank for this one. How you you think he'll repay him for the favor?
Don't hold your breath,Bernie. You're dealing with an angry,back-stabbing piece of crap who just puts on an act of being a human being when he goes to church on Sunday. He started turning the screws already. You should have supported Maultz.
Maybe we should all pay for Forman's lawyer bill against the DEP. That might be the whole year's budget for the town.
We are all lucky that a civil suit wasn't filed against the town because they are saying that Kennedy was acting as Mayor at the time. O.J. was convicted in his civil suit and owed millions.
You could tell by the paper that the Judge in this case knew Kennedy was guilty but didn't think the event was severe enough to put criminal charges on him.
I think that Judge was wrong. Any physical contact is considered assault and I believe he would have been found guilty if he wasn't the Mayor.
To the Anonymous response "Kennedy would have sued the Township"-BULLSHIT! that would mean Kennedy would have had to pony up for another lawyer and he didn't even pay his first lawyer.
My answer to that is let him sue the Township then and take the chance because chances are he would have lost.
It was a cowardly, stupid vote from Graebener and and there is absolutely no justification for it. All the vote did was give a green light to any elected official to do whatever the hell they want, legal or illegal.
All the other towns are cutting their budgets and getting rid of wasteful spending. We have a Committee that voluntarily voted to pay the legal bills of a man who illegally entered and searched a dead man's home, threatened the ex public defender and assaulted a citizen with the deputy mayor and others as witnesses.
This is an insult to the taxpayers of Mullica that our money should finance such behavior.
The Committee couldn't find any extra money for the Rescue Squad, they want donations for the Vet Memorial, our taxes always go up,State aid has been cut, good, decent people in this town are losing their homes, the economy is hitting bottom, and on& on & on.
It was wrong to approve that money for that "man". Our Committee is morally bankrupt. All I can do is express my opinion and talk to other people. Hopefully by Nov., we can get some decent people to replace this deplorable cabal.
BILL KENNEDY is a good man. You REPUBLICANS really do know how to "poor" it on. Mullica has never had a more thoughtful and decent person at the helm. Count your blessings and change your decleration to DEMOCRAT.
VOTE DEMOCRAT! THE CHANGE WILL DO YOU GOOD!
In response to Anonymous 11am:
You might be a Republican if....you use incorrect English, misspell words and tell complete lies.
Dear Anonymous after 11am:
Why do you say that. All I speak is the truth. I am not, nor do I wish to be, a Republican. They are loosers and gay all at the same time. YU included.
AND as for my spaling. Get a lifee.
LOVE, BUSTER
Hey Buster
The words good, thoughtful and decent are a joke when used to describe Kennedy.
And what's wrong with being gay?
I would vote for a smart gay person against any of the four people we have now.
What is with all the gay comments? Gay, straight, black, white, purple, WHO CARES-all the same, get good people in and KFC aren't good people, they're just horrible. This November VOTE THE DAMN REPUBLICANS OUT.
Wonder when Bill will switch parties now that he's used the people of Elwood to vote him in?
Ironically, I doubt very much if Bill even voted for Obama, too close-minded to even consider that in his little pea brain.
