Forman & Chasey Supporter

Janet and Kathy know what is best for this town. They prevented an ordinance being passed that would have required neighbors to be a certain distance before firing their guns. I am so glad this didnt pass. Thanks to them, I can now fire my gun right next to my neighbors house and claim that I am just target practicing....not hunting. Also, Janet and Kathy tried to bring some industry to this town. Remember the Dump? The Dump would have been less of an eyesore than that open field and it would have generated tax revenue. And what a landmark that would provide for all shore visitors passing through our town. I am sure the waste water from this facility, noise and smell would have been a small price to pay for our eyes and our environment had it passed. Also, Janet and Kathy unsuccessfully tried to keep competitive bidding on Mullica contracts from taking place. This is another good idea. Why have our elected officials waste their time (as Mr. Kennedy pointed out in an AC Press article) going through all of this paperwork and possibly save the taxpayers some money. What's a few bucks nowadays, given the current economic climate? And what about that attempt to rezone Elwood Village to bring dense housing to Mullica? What a great precident that would have set!!! Think of all of those old people that would have consistently voted against the school budget and demanded more services, thus driving all of our taxes up!!!! But the ladies werent thinking of this, they were thinking what great diversity that would have brought to the Township, you know, a whole bunch of cranky old people from North Jersey settling in our rural town and complaining about the lack of services available. Heck, they even tried to rezone ALL of Elwood Village after they realized that they were violating the law by spot zoning the site. Rezoning all of Elwood Village would have brought even more development to our rural town because dense housing would have been allowed and we would have seen even more senior citizen complexes in Mullica. No, fellow Mullicans, we owe Janet and Kathy a big THANK YOU for doing all of this and more in representing our town for a paltry $3000.00 per year. Janet and Kathy, keep doing what you are doing......Nov. 2009 will be here before you know it.

The dump would not have generated property tax revenue. The operation would have been exempt from local taxes and local control due to the Federal Railroad Act. T

WHAT? NO TAXES and NO LOCAL CONTROL!! I guess the Mullicans were really lucky that the pinelands stepped in and overode our local officials. We would have the smell, trucks, extra trains and whistles, traffic jams, road damage, water pollution and God knows what else! And all of this right by our school! Gee, wasn't the A.C.L.U called in because our Mayor Chasey didn't like our "no dump" signs. It's a shame that she didn't let the town know what was being planned early on. I guess she just didn't want to worry or upset poor, little, old us. And to think we would not have received a dime for all our discomfort. How many millions of dollars would have been passed around in that deal? Oh yes, Chasey feels so bad that it didn't go through that she even wanted to rezone all of Elwood Village to make it up to poor Mr. Waszen. She was nice enough to even let us spend our tax money on plans for his property. We really are lucky to have avoided all the four-legged rats. This year we can work on getting rid of the two-legged ones.

Maybe somebody should look into who owns property in the Elwood Village and who could buy up lots for future development.

Did anyone ever investigate senior housing? I heard that only 80 percent of the people have to be 55or older. There have been cases where younger people have sued to get in and I even heard of a development that was zoned for seniors but the builders turned it around and made it low income housing. There are a lot of things to look at and the law is tricky when it comes to discrimination because of age. Just think that if that 20 acres had 160 units with just two children each, we would pay about $1,600,000 in taxes to educate them. If the new owners paid $2000 tax for each of the new houses, that would be about $320,000.We would be in the hole for $1,280,000 plus we would probably need to build another school. And that would be for only one 20 acre parcel. Other people could build if they could put together 20 acres. Rezoning the Village would be the destruction of Mullica to make a few people richer. Another great idea by Chasey and Forman!!!

Correction on the money amount.
The amount listed would be for one child. Two Children would be about $20,000 for each household that paid $2,000 in taxes. That would be approx. $3,200,000 cost for education minus $320,000 taxes paid. We're in the hole for $2,880,000. How does anyone think that residential development lowers taxes?

Gee, lets see, thats right, our very own chief barbera owns property in elwood village....and how about the butterhof family.....what do these two have in common....both well connected with the local republican party. Not a shocker! As far as added residential development lowering our taxes....this is a myth put forth by those same well connected Republicans who have influence and control over our local republican elected officials who serve their friends and not fellow mullicans. Just another example and reason why chasey and forman must be defeated next year.

The plan was to build affordable housing, which does not bring in much tax revenue.
