The township allocated funds this year to update the tiny tots section of the playground. This is the section on the right side of the PineCone Zone designed for children 2-5 years old. This is considered Phase 1 out of 3.
We are also working on securing grant money for Phases 2&3. Phase 2 will focus on children ages 5-12 and Phase 3 will be all inclusive play for children with disabilities.
The pictures below are of Phase 1 and what the completed project will
look like after all 3 Phases are complete, as long as we secure funding.
I am really excited to be a part of helping to make this happen for the children in our community and I hope that everyone here is excited about it also!
With that being said, Phase 1 is a community build and the township is looking for volunteers to come out and give a hand on November 2nd! If you are interested in helping please email Dawn Stollenwerk at dstollenwerk@mullicatownship.org or call 609-561-7070 and give her your information.
With the help of our community we can and are making great things happen!!
I would also like to give recognition to all of the community members that made the Pine Cone Zone happen in the first place 20+ years ago. It was through their hard work and dedication that we have the PineCone Zone for our community. It is sad to see the old playground go, but unfortunately it is more costly to repair the existing structure than to replace it. However, we will always be thankful for and never forget what they gave to this community and all the joy it brought the children over the years!
