Prirus Recall
Toyota has issued a recall of 192,000 Prius hybrid cars in the United States due to an engine wiring issue that could ignite a fire.
The recall covers 2016 to 2018 Prius models, according to the Toyota recall notice.
Those cars have an engine wire harness that might contact its cover and wear over time, causing a short circuit that might ultimately ignite a fire, Toyota said.
Owners of the affected Prius cars may visit a Toyota dealer to have the wire harness assembly checked and fixed at no cost.
If the wire core is exposed, they will replace it with one that includes a protective sleeve. If it is not exposed, they will add protective tape.
