A flash flood watch is in effect for Cumberland, Cape May and Atlantic counties through 4 a.m on Monday morning.
Showers
and thunderstorms earlier in the day from a southward moving back door
cold front has made for a soggy ground. As we go forward throughout the
day, most places will be dry until additional activity develops between 4
p.m. to 6 p.m.
A flash flood watch means that there is the potential for flash flooding
which can be life-threatening. Heavy rain is expected to occur over a
short period of time. Rapidly rising flood waters may quickly inundate
roadways and areas of poor drainage. Streams and creeks could leave
their banks, flooding nearby properties. Be prepared to take action if a
flash flood warning is issued for your area.
