NJ Gun Violence Data Report

ASBURY PARK — Hoping to broaden an already heated public discussion on gun violence, Gov. Phil Murphy on Friday signed an executive order that will make more crime data available to residents beginning in May.

 The order will require the state to publish on a monthly basis data about crimes committed with guns. In addition, on a quarterly basis, the state will publish a report detailing the state-of-origin for guns that were used in a crime in the state.
