The National Rifle
Association (NRA) became the most vilified organization in the U.S.
after the tragic Parkland shooting. Democrats and liberals pinned the
blame on them for the massacre. The mainstream media had a field day
demonizing them. And some business giants were quick to join the
bandwagon and severed ties with NRA including Hertz, Delta Airlines,
United Airlines and Simply Safe. But guess what? NRA has gained nearly
500,000 new members since the Parkland tragedy.
Such
is the single biggest increase since the shooting in Newtown
Connecticut where NRA gained a smashing 100,000 within a couple of weeks
only. With membership pegged at $30a year for the lowest tier, that’s
certainly a huge amount for the gun lobby group now.
Maybe some bought new guns
out of exasperation with the biased coverage of such mainstream media as
CNN like Robert Norman who recently wrote an article entitled “I bought
my first gun because of the CNN Townhall” that quickly went viral and
also triggered spirited discussions across the country and became the
topic of many TV interviews.
Or
maybe it is due to Democrats’ motive to exploit the tragic shooting to
their advantage anew when they introduced a bill last week that would
ban over 150 different guns if passed.
Then it could be partly due
to the selective oppression of Twitter which chose to only verify and
promote the survivors of the shooting that were strongly opposed to the
gun lobby group but banned one who happened to be a proponent.
It
could also be the constant fear tactics being fed by the mainstream
media about the AR-15, a gun that has been sold to the public for 60
years, although it was only involved in 6 of the previous 96 mass
shootings.
Maybe
it was a combination of all the above factors. One thing that can’t be
ignored, though, is that there’s no stopping Americans from upholding
and practicing their right to bear arms. After all, it is the
Constitution that protects and says such right should not be infringed.
Historically, NRA’s
membership revenue always registers a remarkable spike after mass
shootings and passionate national discussions pitting gun control versus
gun rights. In 2007, there was a spike in the year that a gunman
murdered 32 people on the campus of Virginia Tech using several
handguns. In 2013, membership revenue increased by 63 percent over the
previous year, after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in
late 2012.
This
time is unique in the sense that the media zeroed in on NRA so much
harder than any other time in history and squarely blamed them for the
deaths that could be attributed to so many factors, including in
regulatory weaknesses in the issuance of permits to buy guns, or law
enforcement shortcomings to stop the gunman in spite of previous strong
red flags.
Can they blame the Americans then who opted to
respond by securing even lifetime memberships to the most vilified
organization in the U.S. today?

Something is very fishy with David Hogg & his CNN connections and FBI parents. I don't even own a gun but I joined the NRA last week. I was jarred by the quick organization of students and CNN's scripted leftist gun grab. "Never let a good crisis go to waste"
The whole story stinks
