MAYS LANDING — Blink’s opening last month in the Hamilton Mall fulfilled a dream for Christina Sweiderk.
The
26-year-old mother of two children knows first-hand the struggle many
young mothers face juggling finances with work and children.
Sweiderk
said in a statement Wednesday she made the decision to invest in
herself when she took her small business of offering eyelash extension
applications out of her home to a full-service store.
“The opening of Blink represented so much for me,” she wrote. “It’s so important for women to love themselves first; trust in themselves and be confident enough to overcome any obstacles that stand in the way of your goals.”

Blink
is built on Sweiderk’s platform of empowering women, building
confidence and enhancing natural beauty. She partners with artist Billy
Joe Michel, a Mullica Township mother of three who sells paintings on
display in Blink.
Blink will donate its commission on the artwork to the Atlantic County Women’s Center, Sweiderk said.
Sweiderk
also said she plans to work with state unemployment agencies on a
training program to boost employment opportunities for women.
Blink offers eyelash extensions in silk or mink material, with an application process averaging about 1½ hours.
Lash extensions are
recommended for anyone looking to enhance their eyelashes in color,
thickness or length, while maintaining a natural look and feel, she
said. The extensions range from natural to dramatic enhancements and can
be customized.
Blink also offers brow tinting and face treatment, and Sweiderk plans to add custom airbrush tanning and eyebrow microblading to the menu within the next six months.

Customers have dubbed Blink the “one-stop glam shop,” she said.
