Mullica Fatal Motorcycle Crash

On September 18th at 8:24pm officers were dispatched to the area of Nesco Road (Rt. 542) near Richards Avenue in the Nesco section of Mullica Township for a call of a man down in the roadway, possible a pedestrian motor vehicle accident. Ptl. Tara Wuko, who was patrolling the same area simultaneously as the incident was dispatched, arrived within seconds of the 911 call. A male, later identified as Alfred Torres, 54 of Hammonton, was found lying in the roadway deceased with severe trauma to the head. Investigation at the scene revealed that Torres was operating a motorcycle, an enduro style bike that can be used on or off road. For reasons unknown at this time Torres lost control was ejected from the bike. The motorcycle was located in woods approximately 100 yards from Torres. The cause of this collision is under investigation, there were no known witnesses at this time. This agency is asking for the public’s assistance by contacting the police department if in fact anyone witnessed the collision or can provide further information about Mr. Torres. The phone number to contact the police department is 609-561-7600. Nesco Road was closed for approximately 2 hours while officers were on scene. Officer’s were assisted on scene by the Nesco Fire Department as well.
