MULLICA TOWNSHIP — Residents were displaced but no one was injured when a cooking fire burned a home Friday evening in the Nesco section of the township.
The
township's Nesco, Sweetwater, Weekstown and Elwood fire companies and
AtlantiCare EMS were dispatched at about 7:25 p.m. for a reported
structure fire on Tomocomo Drive near South Lakewood Drive.
Township Fire Director Jerry Critelli
said after the fire was out that the house was not habitable, but
residents got out without injuries and there were no injuries to
emergency personnel. Critelli said the cause of the fire was cooking.
The officer in charge of the operation was Carmen Merlino, he said.
The Hammonton, Laureldale
and South Egg Harbor volunteer fire companies also were dispatched to
the incident, and an Atlantic City Electric truck was working at the
scene.
Emergency crews were clearing the scene at about 8:30 p.m.
