SUV Fire In Mullica


MULLICA TOWNSHIP — An SUV became engulfed in flames after bumping into the rear of a moving truck, police said.
At 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, Police Capt. Brian Zeck said, a Ford Explorer rear-ended a Lemmerman Moving Co. truck and burst into flames on Route 30 near Fifth Avenue.

Eugene Fairy, 67, of Pleasantville, was driving the SUV that hit the truck, driven by Richard Lemmerman, 63, police said.
The Egg Harbor City and Elwood volunteer fire companies esponded to the scene to extinguish the fire. Both declined medical attention, Zeck said. The accident caused minor delays.


Another accident took place at 3 p.m. Thursday in the township, when a car hit a tree at Snow Hill Road and Reading Avenue, Zeck said. 
Emma Clauvil, 60, of Fort Pierce, Florida, was driving the vehicle that struck the tree. She had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Division, with nonlife-threatening injuries, Zeck said. 
The Elwood Volunteer Fire Company assisted with the extrication. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
