Within the past 24 hours the Mullica Township Police Department
responded to three violent motor vehicle accidents. Two of these
accidents involved drivers being charged with D.U.I. the other, a
driver of a large commercial truck fled the scene after striking a
utility pole and natural gas main. The details are listed below:

On Wednesday the 23rd at 9:10am officers responded to Rt.30/2nd Street
for a call of a vehicle striking a utility pole and then leaving
the scene. Officers located a downed utility pole, a ruptured natural
gas main and a large fluid spill. The vehicle a, 2003 Mack Truck fled
the scene spilling hydraulic fluid on Rt. 30 for over a mile; the
vehicle was found disabled on Snow Hill Road. The Driver, Nevin D
Iannuzzo 30 of Marlton was charged with several offenses including
careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to
report. He was uninjured in the crash. The Elwood Fire Department,
Atlantic County O.E.M. Hazmat Response unit, NJ DOT, Mullica Township
Department of Public Works responded.
• On Wednesday the 23rd at
9:45pm officers responded on Mossmill Road and Columbia Road for a call
of a vehicle overturned. The vehicle a 1995 Saturn struck a utility
pole and then overturned. The driver Lewis Kleinow Jr, 45 of Mays
Landing was uninjured. Kleinow was charged with D.U.I. and other
related offenses.
• On Thursday 11/24 at 7:10am officers
responded to Rt.30 and Burdick Avenue for a call of a vehicle overturned
m.v.a. At this collision a 2000 Toyota Celica struck 2 utility poles
and then overturned. The driver, a Bimal Patel, 24 of Lawrenceville
suffered minor injuries. He was transported to Atlanticare Mainland.
Patel was also charged with D.U.I. and other related offenses. Patel
was found to be in possession of a significant amount of prescription
pills.
