Sergio DeRosa Indicted For Murder

Press Release: A Mullica Township man was indicted for murder, in connection with the shooting death of his wife at their home in 2014

================================================
The former owner of the Old Bay Restaurant and Bar in Egg Harbor City has been indicted on a murder charge in the 2014 shooting death of his wife.
An Atlantic County grand jury ruled Sept. 27 that Sergio DeRosa, 57, of Pleasant Mills Road, Mullica Township, knowingly and purposely caused the death of his wife, Lynn DeRosa, who was found dead at their home just before 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 26, 2014 with a shotgun wound to the head. An autopsy determined the manner of death to be a homicide.
The DeRosas used to own the Old Bay Restaurant and Bar in Egg Harbor City, which later became the Burger Pub. The restaurant, in the 200 block of Philadelphia Avenue, closed a few years ago.
Sergio DeRosa was originally indicted on a charge of manslaughter on Sept. 9, 2015, and has been free on bail since. DeRosa has now been indicted on a murder charge, which supersedes the previous indictment. He turned himself in to Major Crimes Unit detectives this week.

No information has been released on what may have led to the shooting.
DeRosa is now free again on $150,000 bail but is required to wear an electronic monitoring device at all times. He is not allowed to leave the state.
Anyone with information regarding the incident can call the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at 609-909-7666 or the Mullica Township Police Department at 609-652-2037.
