Linda Eagen is a Mullica Township resident and the spouse of an Elwood Volunteer Fireman. She is battling a fight she never thought she would.  In January of 2015 she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma which is a blood cancer that affects the bone marrow, destroys bones and destroys blood cells that fight infection.  She had what she thought was a simple backache which turned out to be a crushed T7 vertebrae which if it had not been discovered and reconstructed when it was, it would have left her paralyzed from the chest down.  Unfortunately she suffers pain daily from the cancer and also from the surgery which she has been told will probably not get better.  She has to rely on a wheelchair when the pain is excessive.  She has gone through 30 days of radiation on a daily basis as well as chemotherapy every week for five months.  She was then sent for a stem cell transplant which confined her to the hospital for three weeks.  So far none of this has been effective and she is still not cancer free.  Linda is now undergoing chemotherapy two weeks for the next two years in hope the cancer can somehow be controlled but no promises have been made by her physicians.  The doctors cannot tell her what her outcome will be, nor her life expectancy.

The medical bills are piling up and the Eagen’s are in need of our help. Please help us help a fellow brother fire fighter’s family in their time of need!
