Obama Gave Mexico $75 Million For A Southern Wall
One of the most controversial topics that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has been speaking of during this election cycle is that he plans to build a wall on the Mexican border in order to prevent illegal immigrants entering in the U.S.
However, it seems that President Barack Obama wanted to do one lasting thing before leaving office, so he gifted Mexico $75 million … to help the Mexicans build a wall to improve their border security.
According to a Financial Times story cited by Newsmax, Mexico wanted to stop people from Central American countries like Guatemala from entering their country via its southern border.
A reported 175,000 Central Americans were deported from Mexico last year, and this year that number has gotten close to 100,000 already.
The money went to equipment and training to help Mexico secure its border to the south. Ultimately, Obama’s thinking went, this will help America because it will stop Central Americans from winding up at America’s doorstep via Mexico.
Cue the collective “What the … ?” from all over the country.
Democrats do not want any walls built. Republicans want a wall on the northern border of Mexico — you know, the one actually bordering America.
Their southern border is Mexico’s problem, one that perhaps the U.S. should be willing to discuss with Mexico … after they agree to pay for Trump’s wall.
Both Democrats and Republicans have not really agreed recently, but they can both concur that this is a really outrageous plan, true hypocrisy.

How can this administration hang a racist label on Trump and then turn around and finance the very same thing?
Furthermore, how does he justify using our tax dollars to do it? How did our Congress even allow this to happen?

First why parrot the left or the right, Second legitimate news sources reported on this like the BBC reported on this, I suspect Larry is rolling over in his grave
The only articles found on BBC were from 2006 discussing the partial border fence between the US and Mexico. Please send a link if you found any articles about the Mexican - Guatemalan wall. In the future, I will check newspapers from other countries if a subject comes up that upsets liberals. I'm sure it would be very interesting to read what Larry would write about this subject. He was always very vocal about taxpayer money.
Your "article " draws a couple of conclusions that are either unsupported by fact or misrepresented. I don't believe there is any reference to the building of a wall on the southern border of Mexico but talk of beefing up border security. ($75 million would probably build a pretty crappy wall) There is a conclusion drawn about Obama's mindset that can't be known. "Mexico is a transit and not a cocaine production country. ...In 1990, just over half the cocaine imported into the U.S. came through Mexico. By 2007, that had risen to more than 90 percent, according to U.S. State Department estimates." The drug comes from South America via Mexico.The purpose of the Merida Initiative is to address drugs, organized crime and money laundering. I don't think Trump is racist or the building of the wall is racist but I think part of his rationale is flawed and includes pandering to racist. John McCain wants a wall and I'm very sure he is not a racist. I can't speak to what democrats believe or what is "reported" which is generally a joke on both sides. Citing NewsMax is a mistake.
