Atlantic County is warning motorists to watch out for bicyclists during this weekend’s Bike MS City to Shore Ride, which stretches across South Jersey from Cherry Hill to Ocean City.
In addition to local
roads, more than 7,000 cyclists will use 1.2 miles of the Atlantic
County Bikeway between Babcock Road and Harbor Avenue in Mays Landing
during the ride, which takes place Saturday and Sunday and benefits the
National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The
bikeway — which stretches from the Atlantic County Institute of
Technology in Mays Landing to the Harbor Square shopping center in Egg
Harbor Township — will stay open to the public, but the county advises
nonparticipating cyclists to take alternate routes between 9:30 a.m. and
4 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. and noon Sunday.
The
county also reminds drivers to be aware of and use caution on roads
shared with cyclists. The City to Shore route can be found at nationalmssociety.org.
