GEHR Classes Begin With Teacher Protest

Teachers and support staff in the Greater Egg Harbor Regional school district are entering their second year without a new contract and made sure students and parents arriving for the first day of school on Tuesday knew it.
Union members arrived early at both Absegami and Cedar Creek High Schools to protest their lack of a contract before school started. Stickers on classroom windows bore the New Jersey Education Association unity symbol and said “I care about your kids.”
