MULLICA TOWNSHIP — Two farmworkers were stabbed multiple times Sunday at a migrant camp at a farm on Moss Mill Road and two others were arrested, police said.

Police said several people called 911 to report the incident at the Consalo Family Farms in the 5200 block of Moss Mill Road. Owner Skip Consalo did not return phone calls for comment.
The victims were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus, in Galloway Township, with nonlife-threatening injuries to their torsos, necks and faces. They are long-term workers who live at the farm, Edgar Fermin, 22, and Carlos Jose, 25, according to police.

Two seasonal farmworkers were arrested and charged with aggravated assault, hindering apprehension and obstruction of justice. They were identified by police as Ismael Perez Sales, 24, and Rony Perez Sales, 24, both of Immokalee, Florida.
Township Chief of Police John Thompson said the men left before police arrived but were found after a search of the surrounding area.
The two suspects remained Tuesday in the Atlantic County jail in Mays Landing on $100,000 bond, said police.
Thompson said intoxication, likely by alcohol, was involved.
Last June, a similar incident happened at a migrant labor camp at Moss Mill Farms in the 4600 block of Moss Mill Road, involving two farm workers.
“We get them every year, sad to say,” Thompson said.

According to a 2015 Produce News article, Consalo Family Farms is a blueberry and vegetable grower based in Vineland that opened a new $10 million blueberry farming and packing operation in Mullica Township last year
