Fatal Mullica Accident



MULLICA TOWNSHIP — An 88-year-old Hammonton man was killed Thursday afternoon in a single car accident on Reading Avenue near Frazier Avenue, police said Friday.

Guy Bucci died after being taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Galloway.
The accident was reported by someone who lived nearby, said Police Chief John Thompson.
Police found the driver unconscious when they arrived at the scene at about 1:45 p.m., and performed CPR until an ambulance arrived.

Police said Bucci was headed East on Reading Avenue when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree. Weather was clear at the time of the collision. Anyone able to provide information about the accident is urged to contact the police department at 609-561-7600.

Yesterday, July 14th 2016 at approximately 1:45pm officers were dispatched to the area of Reading Avenue near Frazier Avenue for a call of a motor vehicle accident. Arriving officers found a single car into a tree, the lone occupant was unconscious. Cpl. Jake O’Hara along with assistance from Captain Zeck performed C.P.R. until Atlanticare emergency medical services arrived. The driver, a Mr. Guy Bucci 88yrs of age residing in Hammonton was transported to Atlanticare Mainland where he was later pronounced deceased.
Facts known at this time are that Mr. Bucci was headed East on Reading Avenue, his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree prior to the intersection of Frazier Avenues. Weather was clear at the time of the collision. Mr. Bucci was operating a 1997 Chrysler LHS at the time of the crash.
