26 NJ Troopers Sent To Cleveland

TRENTON — New Jersey officials have sent 26 state troopers to the Republican National Convention in Ohio to help deal with the influx of 50,000 people and heated protests expected through the week.
The troopers are part of a security detail patrolling areas of Cleveland surrounding the Quicken Loans Arena, where GOP delegates will be selecting their party's candidate and more than a dozen speakers will rally the base behind presumptive nominee Donald Trump.
Capt. Stephen Jones, a State Police spokesman, told NJ Advance Media the troopers will be "keeping the peace and providing protection for members of the public, attendees to the convention and the protesters, as well."
