The Somers Point Board of Education appointed Thomas Baruffi as its interim Superintendent for 2016-17 at the May 24th meeting.
He replaces Frank Vogel, who is leaving to become superintendent of the Hamilton Township school district.
Baruffi, of Ocean City, is
currently completing his second year as interim superintendent in
Mullica Township. Before that he served as shared superintendent for the
Mainland Regional and Linwood school districts.

“The Board of Education is happy
that Dr. Baruffi has agreed to serve as our Interim Superintendent,” Wes
Kazmarck, Somers Point Board of Education Vice President, said in a
statement issued by the board. “His experience and reputation in
Atlantic County is well known, and we look forward to him leading the
district next year.”
The Board of Education will begin the search for a full-time superintendent in the fall.
