N.J. State of Emergency

Gov. Chris Christie announced a state of emergency Friday as a result of the impending storm during a press conference at the Newark Department of Transportation Garage

He requested that residents stay indoors and off the roads, and take proper precautions to prepare for the storm and potential power outages.
This declaration signals the beginning of a statewide response to the oncoming blizzard. The Office of Emergency Management will now be in charge of organizing storm-related efforts with all county and municipal emergency officials and government agencies
