Which N.J. Area Is The Drunkest?
According to a report done by 24/7 Wall St., which compiled its list from county level data provided by County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute joint program.
About 18.1 percent of adults in the Atlantic City-Hammonton area fall under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) definition of a binge drinker — 15 or more alcoholic beverage per week for men, eight or more for women.
The numbers include residents only and not people from out-of-town who come to Atlantic City to drink, 24/7 Wall St. spokesman Douglas McIntyre said.
Statewide, 15.1 percent of adults consume that much alcohol a week.
