The month of November for many officers throughout Atlantic County is a
noticeable difference at first glance. Most departments in Atlantic
County held a “No Shave November,” campaign to raise funds for a charity
of their choice. Donations were made in return for the participating
officers to be permitted not to shave for the month of November. Funds
were raised for several worthy causes by police departments throughout
the county they are:
• Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
• St. Jude’s Children’s research hospital
• Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League, Shop with a Cop program
• American Cancer Society
• Toys for the Needy
Earlier today officers gathered from throughout Atlantic County for a
photo opportunity at the Mays Landing Walmart. Walmart of Mays Landing
is the host of the annual “Shop With A Cop,” program which is being held
on December 12th 2015. The photograph and video represents officers
from: Atlantic City, Brigantine, Somerspoint, Egg Harbor Township,
Galloway, Mullica Township, Egg Harbor City, Atlantic County Sheriff’s
Office, Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Stockton University
Police Department. To date approximately $30,000 has been raised
collectively for the worthy causes listed above. “No shave November,”
is just one of many different ways that Atlantic County’s finest support
the communities that they serve
