Stockton Leases The Clarion

As plans to house students in an Island Campus at the former Showboat casino unraveled this year, university officials had to find alternative plans for the increasing number of students requesting student housing. For the second year, the college opted to lease space in motels on the White Horse Pike.

This year, the college has totally taken over the Clarion, with 123 students housed there, two students to a room. The site has an indoor pool, hot tub, a gym, Internet service and free breakfast each morning. A Stockton shuttle makes regular stops so students can avoid the parking hassles on campus. Stockton police patrol the site at night.
