EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Storybook Land is hosting
their first Special Abilities Night, for children with special needs to
be able to explore and enjoy the amusement park in a sensory-friendly
setting.
“We do get a lot of special needs families,” said
Jessica Fricano, Operations Manager at Storybook Land. “A lot of people
have season passes, special needs kids, and they always say how great
the place is for special needs children. So we decided to open it up
just for those children, that way they can have an amusement park
experience with less stress.”
On September 18th, Storybook land will be
reducing lights and noises, and increasing assistance from their staff.
Tickets are available at a discounted rate, and are capped at a certain
amount to avoid over crowding.
“It’s our first time doing it, so we don’t know
what to expect,” said Fricano. “September’s a nicer month, it’s calmer.
We’re doing nighttime, that way after school, everyone can come, it’s
more convenient.”
